I hope you find at least one point that helps or speaks to you…

I’ve always been curious how others think and do things.

(Some of our greatest lessons or gifts are given to us via others…Thank You, Lord)

“Please, Write That Down!”  (Your examples or ones that have helped you)

For this example, my curiosity is:

How do people pray, meditate, visualize, connect, etc…?

How do we stay on course as we search and have the answers to our questions revealed to us in a recognizable way?

BH’s examples, what helps me,

  1. My most enjoyable time of the day and my best connections seem to be in my private outside shower.  I invite God/Christ/Holy Spirit into my life everyday  “I love you Lord, please come into my life, wash away my sins of yesterday and grace me with a fresh start.  Thank You and please sculpt me, show me the way, I know I cannot do this on my own, so please surround me with the right teachers while giving us your love, wisdom, knowledge and understanding;  strength discipline, protection and guidance so that we can best serve.  Please forgive me for the things I did and did not do.”  Praying, giving thanks and/or asking for guidance (and protection against temptation) are like a shower:  they wear off and need to be “continually refreshed.”
  2. Matthew 26:41, Mark 14:38, and Luke 22:46

“Watch and Pray so that you will not fall into temptation, for the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

  1. I really like to ask for an open-ended prayer as I begin my day, reading the word, writing, stretching, riding the bike, swimming, running, etc.  I ask God for an open-ended connection or prayer so that all my thoughts (sent and received) are guided and considered a continuous dialogue with my best friend, “God/Christ/Holy Spirit.”
  2. Remember when praying:

It is like that old cliché, “We have one mouth and two ears, use them in that proportion.”

  1. Romans 8:26-28, “God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along.  If we don’t know how to pray, it doesn’t matter.  He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.  He knows us far better than we know ourselves… and Keeps Us Present Before God.

That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of God’s Love is worked into something Good.”

  1. Oprah’s all-time favorite prayer/quote from Dr. Martin Luther King:  “Use me, God, show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.”
  2. Prayer of Jabez- I Chronicles 4:10: “Oh, Lord, bless me indeed, enlarge my territory, may your hands be with me and that you keep me from evil, so that I cause no pain.”
  3. Every time I wash my hands, I scrub long enough to recite or pray the “The Lord’s Prayer” Matthew 6:9-13.
  4. I created Spiritual Watches to improve our timing and to help myself and others with an hourly reminder of our faith via the helping hands, hourly prayer chime, quotes and verses... (Or insert your own thoughts at the top of the hour…)
  5. Grandpa Art Halligan:

Bryan, please say a prayer for me because God knows I need the prayers and you need the practice, Ha.”

  1. Receiving the Holy Spirit is a true blessing in our walk with Christ.  The best analogy I’ve heard is “if one is not receiving the Holy Spirit or inviting them into their lives daily, it is like walking in the forest at night during a thunderstorm, only seeing a clear outlook when lightning strikes, briefly illuminating our way.  If one invites (daily) the Holy Spirit into their lives, now it is as if they are carrying their own lantern or light:” Awe, vision, guidance and protection with Love.
  2. My Mom Anita Halligan’s mantra throughout life:

Luke 6:31 “Treat Others as You Want to be Treated.”

I continually give THANKS for my FAITH, FAMILY AND FRIENDS as I continue to learn how to better, SERVE.

In His Hands with Love, and Thanks for Your Interest, Bryan Halligan
